November/December

We have been very busy with the 4th term activities.
-We had a Survivor day, related to our term Inquiry “Survival.”
We did relays like Crossing the Road, In the City, Water Safety ,
Mountain safety etc. The tamariki loved them.
Thanks to Sally from Sports HB for lending us all the equipment for 2 afternoons.
-We have still been learning with Maths and Writing and Reading.
Some children have made amazing progress. A writing focus is on my teacher registration wiki,
as it was one of my classroom goals for the year.
-We started swimming again in the school pool. All the children are water confident except for one.
-We attended the Hakinakina Athletics day at the HB Sports Park against 7 other schools.
Some children got placed in their age group,
-We all rode in a Double Decker bus to Cornwall park, where we fed the ducks , looked at the birds,
played in the playground and had a swim on the Splash pad.
-Miharo joined the Preschool for their Xmas party at Inflatable World which they really enjoyed.
- Lots of tamariki got trophies at Prizegiving.
-The most amazing event though was our trip to Haumoana Zoo.
This was again related to our Inquiry, the focus being on Survival and animals.
The children fed the lambs, brushed the donkey, said Hello to the talking Cockatiel,
led a Llama around the zoo , held rats and guinea pigs and saw 35 different animals and birds.
To top it all off they had a fun playground too.
-The tamariki have been involved in lots of educational activities and learning
as well as outdoor education experiences too. What a busy and fun term it has been.
Only the school Disco to go. ( Mrs Bennett)
